Human Resources as a Business Partner: The Evolution of the HR Department
Friday, March 1, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM (PST)
Title: “Human Resources as a Business Partner: The Evolution of the HR Department”
Date/Time: March 1, 2013, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. PST
Presenter: Sam Murray
Description: Join veteran human resources executive S.A. “Sam” Murray as she powerfully illustrates how some of the most successful and progressive business organizations are turning to a “business partner” model for HR. These companies see HR as having a seat at the table for key decisions across all aspects of a business, whether it’s strategic planning, manufacturing/production, finance or sales.
This new paradigm is designed to allow human resources to have a positive impact on all business functions over time. Gone are the days of HR focusing solely on payroll, benefits and employee relations. Emerging is a modern human resources department that can function as a profit center.
Bio: Sam Murray is CEO of ManagEase, a human resources service provider with a full range of HR, payroll, benefits, training and consulting services. Beginning in 1997, Sam has grown her business from a handful of customers to a high-value business with strong market recognition and more than 600 clients operating in over 30 states.
The services and counsel she provides have allowed entrepreneurial firms, public companies, non-profits, and many other types of organizations to operate at greatly reduced risk and improved productivity.
Ms. Murray’s business success is in no small part due to her commitment to professional growth. She consistently identifies industry trends, and it is this forward-looking focus that has driven her company’s business success in all economic climates.
She also serves as a keynote and panel speaker for leading trade and business organizations. She currently serves as Chairman of the Board of the Irvine Chamber of Commerce.
